Portfolio Review in Madrid, Lima and Mexico City – PHotoEspaña 2009 (Lá Fora… 78)

Descubrimientos PHE, a professional platform which has already attracted over 3,000 photographers from over 40 countries, promotes emerging talents on the national and international photography scenes.

PHotoEspaña, in association with the AECID (Spain’s international aid and development agency), now presents two new portfolio reviews at the Centro Cultural de España in Lima and Mexico City.

Thirty-four international experts, including the MoMA photography conservator Susan Kismaric, the New York Times Magazine photography editor Kathy Ryan, and the director of the Museu Berardo in Lisbon, Jean-François Chougnet, will review the best competition entries.

The finalists at the three venues will compete for the Descubrimientos PHE Epson Prize; several of the finalists at Descubrimientos PHE Lima and Mexico City will be featured in a group exhibition that will tour different branches of the Instituto Cervantes.

All registrations and portfolio submissions are to be conducted via the festival website at www.phe.es.

The closing date for registrations is 11 January 2009 and the results of the pre-registration phase will be announced on 4 February.
